Gender Assessment of the Impact of
EU Accession on Women and the Labour Market in Central and Eastern Europe

The goal of the conference is the launch of four national studies of the impact
of EU accession on women and the labour market in Central and Eastern Europe for
Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Hungary and Poland. The conference will also develop
an understanding of the opportunities emerging from EU accession process in
order to advance the social and economic rights of women. It will gather
activists, policy and decision makers, as well as experts from CEE/CIS and EU.
This conference is organized by KARAT, a regional coalition of organizations,
advocating for gender and economic justice in Central and Eastern Europe and the
Commonwealth of Independent States Due to financial constrains Karat Coalition
will only be able to cover the cost of participation of selected number of
participants (conference fee, travel expenses and accommodation), with
preference being given to CEE/CIS women from NGOs focusing on gender and
economic justice. Others will have to utilise their own resources to cover
expenses associated with their participation. The conference fee is 40 EURO.
